3.6.2 - eccfg commits fail if password not supplied / doesn't prompt for password.

Last Updated: May 17, 2016 02:53PM EDT
3.6.2 - eccfg commits fail if password not supplied / doesn't prompt for password.

Symptoms

When trying to commit ( eccfg commit ) in 3.6.2 without adding the --password or -p eccfg will return error 76- ( Authentication failed ) which may be misleading as a shim/config error. Shim will return correct, and adding of new directories will be successful but the user will not be able to commit

Workaround

Workaround is to add in the password on the command line.

If there are concerns about the password being stored in the bash history you can add $ echo "HISTCONTROL=ignorespace" >>~/.bashrc then when entering in the eccfg command putting a space before the command and it will not be stored in the bash history.
